This Groomer Service Agreement is entered into between Groomr (Pty) Ltd, operating groomr.co.za ("Groomr"), and the individual or entity registering as a Groomer on the platform ("you", "your").
You are an independent contractor and not an employee of Groomr. Groomr is a technology marketplace only — it does not provide pet grooming services. You are solely responsible for your own working hours, equipment, taxes, statutory contributions, insurance and compliance with all applicable laws.
Groomr grants you a non-exclusive licence to create a groomer profile, list your services, receive and manage bookings, and receive payments through the platform.
All Groomers must submit a valid SA ID or passport, proof of address (not older than 3 months), a police clearance certificate (not older than 6 months), and business registration documents where applicable. Groomr may approve or reject any application at its sole discretion.
Groomr charges a 15% commission on each completed booking. You receive 85% of the booking value, paid out within 2-3 business days of completion. Groomr may adjust the commission rate with 30 days written notice. You are responsible for your own tax obligations.
You agree to: provide services professionally and safely; maintain accurate profile information; respond to bookings promptly; treat all animals with care in accordance with the Animals Protection Act 71 of 1962; maintain appropriate insurance; and not solicit Customers to transact outside the Groomr platform.
GROOMR IS A MARKETPLACE ONLY AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURY, HARM OR DEATH TO ANY ANIMAL, ANY PROPERTY DAMAGE, ANY DISPUTE BETWEEN A GROOMER AND CUSTOMER, OR ANY LOSS OF INCOME. You indemnify and hold harmless Groomr from any claims, damages or expenses arising from your provision of grooming services.
You are strongly encouraged to obtain public liability, professional indemnity and animal bailee insurance. Groomr provides no insurance cover for Groomers or animals in your care.
You agree not to: misrepresent your qualifications; abuse or harm any animal; engage in fraudulent conduct; solicit Customers outside the platform; share your account credentials; or use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
Groomr may suspend or deactivate your account at any time if you breach this Agreement, receive significant negative reviews, or if Groomr is required to do so by law. You may terminate by ceasing use and requesting account deletion at support@groomr.co.za. Outstanding payouts for completed bookings will be processed within 7 business days.
Your personal information will be processed in accordance with POPIA and Groomr's Privacy Policy at groomr.co.za/privacy.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the South Gauteng High Court, Johannesburg.
